
Check out this chart of the week from MarketingSherpa.com, what does it tell you?

You guessed it, not everybody who registers tells the truth. But I'm sure that you didn't need a chart to tell you this. Okay, 2 more question to get you thinking:
What information do you currently ask for on a sign-up form?
And what information do you absolutley need to perform the actions of your list?
If you didn't answer both of those questions the same then you could be missing out on a few subscribers. Take another look at the chart above and you notice that the top two fields have a 27% and 31% dishonesty rate, respectively.
Oh and one more question, what does that tell you?
It tells me that if you don't need anything more, then just ask for name and email address... see sometimes less is more!
Also, this is another reason why it's a good idea to double opt-in, that way the subscriber has to give you the correct email address... if they want what your offering.
